I have been practising bushcraft for more than thirty years. Long enough to know it is far more than an outdoor hobby or a temporary trend. For me, bushcraft is a way of life. It reconnects people with the natural world and with practical wilderness skills that support independence and confidence in the outdoors.
People often speak about returning to nature. In reality, nature has never left. It is we who have gradually lost contact with it.
Bushcraft develops both physical and mental resilience. It builds patience, awareness and self-reliance. Sometimes it feels like quiet reflection. At other times it reminds us that the natural environment operates on its own terms and requires respect.
Bushcraft remains one of the most effective ways to restore balance and recharge the inner batteries. It works entirely offline and requires no subscription.

A forester and oceanographer by education.
Over the years also a horse rider, scuba diver, glider pilot, martial arts practitioner and traveller.
Today I practise bushcraft on foot, by bicycle and by canoe. I still see myself as a wandering pilgrim. Someone who keeps looking for what lies a little further from the road and beyond the asphalt.
